যুগ যুগ ধরে আনন্দ উৎসবের মাধ্যমে ঐতিহ্যবাহী প্রধান এ উৎসব উদযাপন করে আসছে পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের ক্ষুদ্র নৃ - গোষ্ঠী। উৎসবটিকে ত্রিপুরা জনগোষ্ঠীর 'বৈসুক', মারমা সম্প্রদায়ের 'সাংগ্রাই' এবং চাকমাদের 'বিজু' আদ্যক্ষর মিলিয়ে সংক্ষেপে এই উৎসবকে 'বৈসাবি' বলা হয়।
